Construction Safety Week: Our Commitment to Safety First
This week, hundreds of construction companies and industry professionals are celebrating Construction Safety Week. The annual event promotes safety in our industry. It also gives us an opportunity to reflect on our enduring commitment to the safety of our team, clients, and the public.
The theme for Construction Safety Week 2024 is “Encourage • Listen • Empower”. This theme highlights the critical role each individual plays in ensuring a project’s safety and success. By fostering an environment that values communication, teamwork, and inclusion, we can promote a culture that empowers everyone to contribute to a safer workplace. Each decision, incident, and voice can inspire change and create a safety culture that benefits everyone in the industry.
Our Commitment to Safety
At Larson-Danielson, safety is not just a priority; it is our first priority. We believe that safety has broad implications. That’s why we hold every member of our team accountable for job-site safety. Our aim is consistent application of our safety program and continuous training to guarantee uncompromised safety.
Furthermore, we’ve launched “Next Level Safety,” an initiative focused on reducing the risk of strains and sprains in an aging construction workforce. Our executives have visited sites, engaging directly with journeymen and apprentices on the importance of good ergonomics. This top-down communication of our safety commitment has shown positive results. We have just passed 100,000 hour worked with no recordables!
Above all, the importance of safety in every aspect of our work cannot be ignored. We are proud of our safety accomplishments and we remain committed to prioritizing safety in all our construction projects. Together, we will continue to work safe and stay safe.
Construction Safety Week 2024
During Construction Safety Week, we encourage everyone in the Larson-Danielson Construction family, and across the industry, to visit https://www.constructionsafetyweek.com/. The site is packed with resources, such as posters, conversation guides, daily plans, and activities to promote workplace safety. Moreover, the resources are designed to help us discuss and focus on critical safety issues in our industry, allowing us to learn, grow, and contribute to a safer work environment.
In addition, Construction Safety Week 2024 focuses on different topics each day. First, Monday emphasizes personal responsibility in maintaining safety standards. Then, Tuesday encourages open dialogue and the sharing of new ideas for safety improvements. And then, Wednesday values diverse perspectives, promoting open communication and engagement to enhance productivity. Next, Thursday underlines the role of trust and communication in fostering a strong safety culture. Finally, Friday thanks everyone for the collective effort in maintaining safety and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
Work Safe. Stay Safe.
As we consider Construction Safety Week, we reaffirm our commitment to creating and maintaining safe job sites for all our employees, subcontractors, and clients. We understand that safety is not just about policies and programs, but about creating a culture where everyone plays their part in keeping each other safe.
Here’s to a safe and productive Construction Safety Week and beyond!
