ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE
Formed in 1908, Larson-Danielson is a Design-Build General Contractor located in LaPorte Indiana. Reporting: This person will report to the Accounting Manager

- Job and cost account setup
- Job cost and estimate transfers
- Job cost reporting
Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics
- 2 years of previous accounting experience, preferably in a construction environment
- Practical knowledge of accounting theories and practices
- Ability to handle and protect confidential information
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and work independently, with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate prioritization, organization, and time management skills
- Must be a team player, detail-oriented with strong computer skills and be able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Sage Accounting preferred
- Willing to work 40 hours per week on a regular basis

ARCHITECT LEVEL II
ARCHITECT LEVEL II
Facet Architecture is a growing commercial architecture firm doing business primarily in the Northwest Indiana market with an established client base in the area focused on increasing market share and geographic reach. Projects include diverse commercial and light industrial, renovation, and new construction projects.
An immediate opening is available for the position of Architect II within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
The Architect Level II’s primary responsibility will be to participate in the conceptual design and provide full support through the design of projects. In general, this person will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Architectural Design: Plan and design commercial buildings with guidance from Senior Architectural staff. Project size and complexity will vary from small renovation projects to large ground-up $10-20 million projects in the Northwest and North Central Indiana area.
- Project Management: Many of the projects will involve integrated delivery systems (i.e. Design/Build, Fast-Track Construction Management, etc.). This person will need to develop a strong understanding of all project systems and will be asked to be involved in all aspects of project design development.
- Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients to cultivate a personal portfolio.
- Assist with Project Administration: Work with Construction Project Managers, Consultants, and other team members to review project submittals, answer requests for information and other administrative tasks.
- Communicate With the Project Team: Maintain communication with all parties involved with a project. Open and timely communication will be a key to the success.
- Document Production: Produce drawings, details, specifications, renderings, and graphic presentations for clients and for contractors.
Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics
- Must be a team player, detail-oriented with strong computer skills and be able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Education: preferred professional degree in Architecture with licensure (State of Indiana)
- 5+ years of experience in commercial architecture.
- Demonstrate ability to produce commercial construction drawings & details.
- Demonstrate prioritization, organization, and time management skills
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of typical commercial construction systems and detailing.
- Proficient in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and work independently, with minimal supervision

ESTIMATOR
ESTIMATOR
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications and addendums
- Accurately estimate labor hours, material quantities and equipment needs, and then price accordingly for concrete, masonry, earthwork and carpentry for hard-bid projects, as well as, design-build projects
- Solicit subcontractor/material supplier pricing for all divisions of work per project requirements
- Be capable of competitively bidding commercial construction projects ranging in size from $500K-$5M or above
Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics
- Must be a team player, detail-oriented with strong computer skills and be able to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years of experience in commercial estimating of both public and private projects
- Demonstrate prioritization, organization and time management skills

PROJECT ENGINEER
PROJECT ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager on the management of projects that includes preparation of correspondence, planning and documentation of project meetings, tracking and updating project schedule, preparation and/or procuring shop drawing and installation instructions as required, tracking deliveries and coordinating construction materials and equipment per project schedule, tracking RFI and Change Order processes, issuing purchase orders as required, preparing close out documents, and creating punchlists and/or deficiency logs and tracking through completion.
- Assist the Project Manager with communication to Project Superintendents that includes making sure they are kept up to date with current plans and posting plan revisions on jobsite, and coordinating the work of different trades and review submittals for conflicts between trades.
- Assist with the review of shop drawings from subs and suppliers for meeting plan and specification requirements and for dimensional properties to meet construction requirements.
- Providing field and office engineering by consulting with office engineers, as needed.
- Assist the estimating process that includes sending out bid invitations, working with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best bid-day pricing, perform detailed scope reviews with subcontractors and suppliers during the bidding process, performing take-offs, and working on contract buy outs.
- Complete small estimates under the direction of a Project Manager or Estimator.
- Take responsibility for, and manage, small projects under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Provide coordination and maintenance of good relationships with the Owner, Designer, Subcontractors, and other entities associated with the projects.
Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics
- Preferably working towards, or having obtained, an Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in the construction-related field, with some previous construction experience.
- Be able to read plans and specifications and be willing to expend the time to learn the plans and specification requirements thoroughly for the projects assigned.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as, strong computer skills
- Must be a self-motivated individual interested in developing the necessary skills to become a Project Manager or Estimator, and a Team Player.
