2024 Outstanding Concrete Project of the Year Award
The Ironworks Plaza Improvements and Riverwalk Extension in Mishawaka took home the 2024 Outstanding Concrete Project of the Year Award from IRMCA, the Indiana Ready Mixed Concrete Association. We served as a concrete subcontractor and worked with Smith Ready Mix and DLZ Indiana on the project.
Located in the heart of Mishawaka, the project involved an extensive renovation, deploying a total of 1,429 yards of concrete. This ambitious transformation aimed to reshape the landscape and experiences offered within the community.
A key milestone in this venture was the replacement of the esteemed Merifield Ice Rink, marking a transition to a new era while respecting the site’s rich history. The project featured an impressive 17,500-square-foot ice ribbon and plaza, designed to serve as a central hub for recreational activities and social interaction.
This development marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Ironworks Plaza and Riverwalk, involving meticulous demolition, earthwork, and the accurate installation of concrete pavement. These enhancements blend modern design and functionality, addressing the evolving needs of the Mishawaka community.
